FASCINATION ABOUT BULGARIA

Stefan Stambolov (1854–1895) served 1886-1894 to start with as regent and afterwards prime minister for the new ruler, Ferdinand I of Bulgaria (prince 1887–1908, tsar 1908–1918). Stambolov thought that Russia's liberation of Bulgaria from Turkish rule were an attempt by Czarist Russia to show Bulgaria into its protectorate. His plan was chara
